The Rendille Tribe

Since it is not permitted to marry within one’s own clan and contact with other clans is minimal for younger people, marriage in the Rendille is usually arranged by parents. A bride price is always part of the negotiations and includes livestock, beautiful beads connected with copper or aluminum metal worn by the women around the neck, beads wrist and ankle bangles, and Red Shukas with animal skin that are used as shirts.
